Ark on the Edge: The Animal Rescue Facing Closure

Urgent Appeal for Support

Help Save the Lives of Hundreds of Rescued Animals

Wetheriggs Animal Rescue, a renowned international animal rescue centre, is facing an uncertain future as it teeters on the brink of closure. Located on the A66 just outside Barnard Castle in County Durham, the centre provides a lifeline to hundreds of rescued animals, including dogs, cats, horses, and farm animals.

The centre has been operating for over 40 years, rescuing and rehabilitating countless animals that have suffered neglect, abandonment, or abuse. However, rising costs and dwindling donations have put the centre's future in jeopardy. The latest blow came when a major funding source was unexpectedly withdrawn.

Without urgent support, Wetheriggs faces the heartbreaking prospect of closing its doors, leaving hundreds of animals without a safe haven. The centre's dedicated staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to raise funds and awareness, but time is running out.

The animals at Wetheriggs rely on the centre for their survival. They have nowhere else to go if the centre is forced to close. Your donations can make a real difference in their lives. Every pound raised will help keep the centre open and provide essential care for the animals.

How to Help:

  • Send a cheque to: Wetheriggs Animal Rescue, Woolley Hill Farm, Woodland, County Durham DL13 5RX
