Juventus Sack Allegri After Italian Cup Win

Allegri's Second Spell Ends After Eight Years

Outburst Toward Referees Cited as Reason for Dismissal

Juventus have sacked Massimiliano Allegri two days after he led the side to the Italian Cup. The Turin side beat Atalanta 1-0 in Rome but Allegri's outburst toward the referees in the final has cost him his job.

Allegri was the Turin club's coach for eight years over two spells in 2014-2019 and 2021-2024. He led Juve to five Serie A titles and five Italian Cups.

"Juventus announces that it has relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his position as head coach of the men's first team," the club said in a statement.

Juventus did not give a reason for Allegri's dismissal, but it is believed to be related to his outburst toward the referees in the Italian Cup final. Allegri was sent off in the second half of the match for protesting a decision by the referee.

Allegri's dismissal comes as a surprise, as he had just led Juventus to their first trophy of the season. However, the club has been struggling in Serie A, and Allegri's outburst toward the referees was the final straw for the club's hierarchy.
